The type of seafood and how it was prepared determines how long fish stays fresh. Raw fish lasts less long in the fridge and longer in the freezer. One to two days for raw cod, salmon, and halibut to stay fresh in the fridge and six to nine months in the freezer. While only three to six months in the freezer for smoked fish, and five to seven days in the fridge.
