The medical journal “Optometry” has published a study in 2008 shedding light on mascara. The report found that microbial growth contaminants 36.4 percent of the tubes, three months after opening a new product.

So, using old mascara can be detrimental in many ways.  Staphylococcus epidermidis, Streptococcus species, or you can also call it fungi is the main one. In rare cases, you can damage your vision, but commonly, you can get eye infections! In order to prevent it, it’d be best to substitute yours every three months.
