Basil cuttings in the fridge is not a good idea at all. Your basil can’t get any sunlight in there, as refrigerators are dark. In the fridge, Basil has been known to wilt.
Place any leftover basil in a cup half full of fresh water instead, and then place that cup by a sunny window. It may even sprout roots, which means that you can replant it and grow infinite basil, and that way your basil will last a lot longer.
